IMM wraps up wounds in Düzce21 July 2019 Sunday
The IMM continues its search and rescue and wound healing efforts in Düzce with reinforcements. With the instructions of Mayor Ekrem Imamoğlu, 3 days ago, the teams were dispatched to the region and reached the lifeless body of a missing person. IMM teams also meet the water and food needs of citizens.

MUD DRAWING WORKS STARTED WITH 3 VEHICLES
Search and debris removal efforts are underway in Düzce for missing citizens due to flooding and landslides on July 17.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality continues its search and rescue and wound healing efforts in Akçakoca district. On the morning of Saturday, July 20, IMM teams under AKOM met with district officials at the crisis table to work on the damage caused by flooding in the villages of Akçakoca and Cumayeri. After the meeting, teams began search and rescue and debris removal work on closed roads.
IMM sent 1 combined vehicle 2 vacuum trucks and 8 personnel to Düzce in the morning hours to be used in the mud towing process in the region. At 11: 00, mud-hauling work began with vehicles reaching the area.


A MISSING PERSON'S LIFELESS BODY WAS RECOVERED IN AKÇAKOCA
IMM Fire Department Underwater Search and Rescue Team (ISAK) continues to search for 6 citizens who were lost in the flood.
On the 3rd day of the operation, the lifeless body of the person seen by the citizens at Melen Creek in Uğurlu Village, Akçakoca, was removed by other teams in the area and the Istanbul Fire Department Underwater Search and Rescue Team (ISAK). A citizen, presumed to be Cengiz TÖNGEL, was handed over to medical teams.


MELEN CREEK IS BEING SCANNED STEP-BY-STEP
On the first day, a 5-kilometer section of Melen Creek was scanned from the two sides to Uğurlu Village. The location of the creek bed was changed, the creek reached 100-metre widths in some sections, and the shaft strata, which were 2 metres apart, completely covered the vehicles.
Many animal deaths were encountered in the flood zone due to widespread livestock raising in surrounding villages. Work is also under way to remove trees that appear to have been removed from the forest and filled the creek bed.


THE PUBLIC'S NEED FOR CLEAN WATER AND FOOD IS ALSO BEING MET
IMM firefighter crews continue to work to evacuate mud deposited in public institutions such as mosques, schools, health centers and citizens' homes in ESMA Hanım Village.
The mobile Buffet vehicle belonging to IMM Logistics Support Directorate, which is deployed in ESMA Hanım village, meets the food and beverage needs of the people.
6 16-tonne drinking water vehicles belonging to IMM Hamidiye Water Company meet the water needs of citizens in areas whose infrastructure is deteriorated and where drinking water is not available.
IMM Aid Team in Düzce consists of 27 vehicles and heavy construction equipments from Fire Department, Road Maintenance, Support Services and IMM Hamidiye Water Company with a total of 49 personnel consisting of Underwater Search and Rescue Teams.
