The fire in Heybeliada was taken under control13 July 2020 Monday
IMM, Forest District Directorate and Military Academy teams intervened in the forest fire in Heybeliada with helicopters, aircrafts and high number of fire trucks. The fire, which was effective in the area of 5-6 hectares, was taken under control.

A forest fire broke out around 17.30 in Istanbul Heybeliada. The fire was first intervened by the IMM Fire Department Heybeliada Team.

Firefighters from the Anatolian Side were quickly dispatched to the area to respond to the fire, which was effective in the area of 5-6 hectares.

The teams from the fire stations on the Anatolian Side who went to the island with landing ships and Büyükada firefighters started fire response works.

IMM teams participated in extinguishing works with 1 landing craft, 17 vehicles and 51 personnel.

The firefighting teams of the Regional Directorate of Forestry and the Military Academy crews in the region also participated in extinguishing works with 5 firefighting helicopters and 2 firefighting aircrafts. The fire was taken under control as of 19.45. The teams continue to work on cooling from land and air.
