A fire broke out in a two-storey building and the adjoining scrapyard on Ersel Street in Esentepe Neighbourhood, Kartal. The Fire Department was called at 19:28 and fire crews from Kartal, Maltepe, Pendik, Yakacık, Büyükbakkalköy and Kurtköy stations attended the incident along with paramedics. 44 firefighters in 15 fire engines, arriving at the scene soon, extinguished the blaze. While the fire resulted in damage to the scrapyard and the building, no one was injured or dead.
