Upon receiving reports around 08:37, fire teams from Ataşehir, Dudullu, Mehmet Akif, Sancaktepe, and Kartal stations were dispatched to the scene. Thanks to the efforts of the teams, who arrived shortly after, the fire was extinguished.

Upon receiving reports around 09:40, our Kadıköy fire team was dispatched to the scene. Our team quickly rescued the individual who had fallen into the foundation of a construction site belonging to a private company and handed the injured person over to medical teams.

Building collapse in Fatih

Collapses occurred in two two-story buildings on Ebe Street in Ayvansaray Neighborhood of Fatih District following an explosion of unknown cause. Upon receiving reports around 12:06, fire teams from Balat, Fatih, Şişli, Eyüpsultan, Alibeyköy, Bayrampaşa, Mahmutbey, Sultangazi, K-9 Dog Search and Rescue, Bakırköy, Kadıköy, Beşiktaş, Ümraniye, Kemerburgaz, Çatalca, Avcılar, Maltepe, Başakşehir, Bahçelievler, İBB-İTF-01 (INSARAG Team), Kağıthane, Kıraç, Ümraniye stations and 112 Emergency Ambulance services were dispatched to the scene.

Our teams, arriving quickly at the scene with 71 vehicles and 196 personnel, launched a long and meticulous operation, resulting in the rescue of 10 citizens from under the rubble with injuries. The body of one citizen was also recovered.

The incident also caused material damage to surrounding buildings.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri ASLAN celebrated the holiday with fire department personnel.

The Eid al-Fitr celebration program held at our Fire Department and various stations was attended by our Deputy Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Nuri ASLAN, our General Secretary Prof. Dr. Volkan DEMİR, our Fire Department Head Remzi ALBAYRAK, our regional directors, deputy directors, and colleagues.

Deputy Mayor Nuri ASLAN stated that the fire department is one of the most important units of the municipality and expressed his gratitude to our firefighters for their outstanding efforts and work in performing their duties. He continued by saying that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality provides uninterrupted service 24/7 and that “Holidays are celebrated with families. But we are at the beginning of our shifts with the desire and excitement to serve.”

A meaningful visit to Bakırköy Fire Station

Members of the Bakırköy and Arnavutköy Municipal Councils visited the Bakırköy Fire Station. During the visit, they thanked our heroes for their courage, dedication, and hard work in ensuring the safety and peace of Istanbul, and wished them continued success in their careers. Our in-service training programs are ongoing

As the Istanbul Fire Department, we continue our in-service training without interruption. To increase the effectiveness of our personnel in various types of fire incidents and to better serve our citizens, a theoretical and practical "Shipyard and Ship Fire Response Training" was conducted on March 9-10-11, 2026.

The training covered methods and techniques to be used in fires that may occur in shipyards and on ships. Both the practical and theoretical parts of the training were conducted in the Tuzla shipyards area.
