A meaningful visit to Bakırköy Fire Station

Members of the Bakırköy and Arnavutköy Municipal Councils visited the Bakırköy Fire Station. During the visit, they thanked our heroes for their courage, dedication, and hard work in ensuring the safety and peace of Istanbul, and wished them continued success in their careers. After inspecting the station and vehicles, our guests presented gifts to our female firefighters. The visit concluded with a commemorative photograph.

Our in-service training programs are ongoing

As the Istanbul Fire Department, we continue our in-service training without interruption. To increase the effectiveness of our personnel in various types of fire incidents and to better serve our citizens, a theoretical and practical "Shipyard and Ship Fire Response Training" was conducted on March 9-10-11, 2026.

The training covered methods and techniques to be used in fires that may occur in shipyards and on ships. Both the practical and theoretical parts of the training were conducted in the Tuzla shipyards area.

The traditional annual iftar dinner of our Kadıköy Fire Station was held with the participation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Volkan Demir, Deputy Secretary General Remzi Albayrak, esteemed department heads and council members, our regional managers, station chiefs and deputy chiefs, retired firefighters, firefighters, trainee firefighters, and their families. The iftar, which began in a warm and friendly atmosphere, continued with the breaking of the fast and prayers, and concluded with commemorative photographs.

Thanks to the swift intervention of the teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished within a short time. While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.

Exterior fire in Üsküdar

Upon receiving reports around 14:53, fire teams from Üsküdar, Zeynep Kamil, Ünalan, Kadıköy, and Beşiktaş stations were dispatched to the scene along with 112 emergency medical crews. Thanks to the efforts of the teams who arrived shortly after, the fire was brought under control and extinguished. While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.

Vehicle fire in Ümraniye

A fire broke out in a vehicle on the TEM Highway in Ümraniye's Finanskent Neighborhood, heading towards Istanbul. Upon receiving reports around 07:45, our Dudullu fire team was dispatched to the scene. Thanks to the quick response of our team, the fire was extinguished in a short time.

While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.

Hospital fire in Sarıyer

A fire broke out at the Metin Sabancı Baltalimanı Bone Diseases Training and Research Hospital, located on Baltalimanı Hisar Street in Baltalimanı Neighborhood of Sarıyer. Upon receiving reports around 06:16, fire teams from İstinye, Beşiktaş, Sarıyer, Hacıosman, Şişli, and Seyrantepe stations were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished quickly thanks to the efforts of the responding teams.

While there was material damage, a total of 11 patients on the first floor, where the fire occurred, were evacuated to a safe area.

Vehicle fire in Tuzla

A fire broke out in a parked truck on Şifa Yanyol in Tuzla's Şifa Neighborhood. Upon receiving reports around 8:29, fire teams from Tuzla Coastal, Tuzla, and Orhanlı stations were dispatched to the scene. Thanks to the swift response of the teams, the fire in the truck was extinguished.

While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.

Container fire in Kadıköy

Upon receiving reports around 09:24, our fire teams from Kadıköy, Erenköy, Ünalan, and Ümraniye stations were dispatched to the scene. Thanks to the swift intervention of our teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished shortly after their arrival. While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.

The traditional annual iftar dinner of our Beyoğlu Station took place with the participation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri ASLAN, Deputy Secretary General and Head of Fire Department Remzi ALBAYRAK, Deputy Secretary General Murat YAZICI, Deputy Head of the IMM Group Ülkü SAKALAR, IMM Assembly members, regional directors, retired firefighters, firefighters currently working, trainee firefighters, their families, and our esteemed guests.

The iftar program, which began in a warm and friendly atmosphere, continued with the breaking of the fast, prayers, and the sharing of firefighting stories and pleasant conversations by our retired senior firefighters. The iftar program concluded after a group photo session.

Upon receiving reports around 14:09, our Kocamustafapaşa, Fatih, and Zeytinburnu teams were dispatched to the scene along with 112 emergency medical crews. Thanks to the efforts of our teams, who arrived at the scene shortly afterwards, the fire was brought under control and extinguished. While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.

Thanks to the swift intervention of our teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished. While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan met with firefighters for sahur

Our Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan had sahur (pre-dawn meal during Ramadan) with our personnel who work 24/7 for the safety of Istanbul at our Bahçelievler station. Following the sahur program, which was also attended by our Fire Department Director Remzi Albayrak and our regional managers, a visit was made to our personnel on duty at the Siyavuşpaşa station. We sincerely thank Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan for his close interest in and support of our Fire Department.

The Mayor of Çekmeköy met with firefighters for sahur

Çekmeköy Mayor Orhan Çerkez had sahur (pre-dawn meal during Ramadan) with our personnel at the Çekmeköy fire station. He said, “First of all, I wish you a blessed Ramadan. I hope that all the fasts observed will be accepted. I wish that all the prayers everyone makes during Ramadan – for themselves, their families, this beautiful city and country they live in, and even for humanity – will be accepted.” We sincerely thank him for his close interest and support shown to our fire department.

A fire broke out in two adjacent wooden buildings on Ananas Street in the Derviş Ali Neighborhood of Fatih. Upon receiving reports around 00:51, fire teams from Fatih, Balat, Şişli, Bayrampaşa, Bakırköy, and Davutpaşa stations were dispatched to the scene. Thanks to the swift response of the teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished.

The iftar dinner, held with the participation of our personnel working at the Fatih Fire Station, was attended by our Fire Department Head Remzi ALBAYRAK, our regional fire department managers and administrators, our firefighters, their valued families, and our retired firefighter colleagues. In a warm, family-like atmosphere, prayers were offered after breaking the fast.

The evening concluded with pleasant conversations and tea.

Upon receiving reports around 08:53, fire teams from Selimpaşa, Silivri, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca, Dudullu, Mahmutbey, Bakırköy, Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü, Avcılar, Şişli, Kadıköy, Ümraniye, Kartal, Beşiktaş, Sultangazi, Kemerburgaz, Sancaktepe, Çavuşbaşı, Bahçelievler, Büyükbakkalköy, Hadımköy and Fatih stations were dispatched to the scene along with 112 emergency medical crews. Our teams, arriving shortly after, intervened with a total of 67 vehicles and 219 personnel, and the fire was brought under control and extinguished. While there was material damage, no injuries or fatalities occurred.
