Vehicle fire in Ataşehir

A fire broke out in a vehicle on Kayışdağı Street in İnönü Neighborhood, Ataşehir. Upon receiving a report at around 11:36, our Ataşehir fire team was dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished as a result of the intervention of our team that arrived at the scene in a short time.

There were no injuries or loss of life in the incident where material damage occurred.

Within the scope of the "Regulation on Fire Protection of Buildings Implementation Guide" published by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change on December 16, 2024, we, as the Istanbul Fire Department, organized a regulation evaluation meeting.

In the meeting held with the participation of our Fire Department Head Remzi Albayrak, Munipal Police Department Head Metin Alper, our regional directors and senior managers and employees of 39 district municipalities in Istanbul, important opinions were shared and evaluations were made regarding the implementation of the regulation.

A chemical product fire and rescue drill was conducted at the M3 Olympic Village Main Warehouse with Metro Istanbul employees. According to the adapted scenario, we received a report of a fire inside the warehouse and an employee trapped inside. Upon the reports received, Başakşehir fire teams and emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the intervention of our teams that arrived at the scene in a short time, the fire was extinguished and an employee trapped inside was rescued with injuries and sent to the hospital by the healthcare teams. After the incident, the drill was concluded with Metro Istanbul personnel practicing extinguishing and a souvenir photo was taken.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is nearing the end of recruitment of civil servants for fire department and municipal police department positions

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is putting a total of 4,913 civil servant candidates through a written exam. Candidates will compete to work in the fire department and municipal police department positions with the exams to be held today and tomorrow. Firefighter and municipal police officer candidates who pass the written exam will be eligible for the practical exams. Candidates who pass the practical exams for the firefigter positions and municipal police officer positions will officially start working as civil servants in IMM. The practical exams will be held on April 7, 2025. Oral interviews for various positions will start on March 3, 2025 and continue until May 20, 2025.

The exam, which is planned to be 120 minutes per session, will be attended by 2,113 candidates in the first session for the firefighter position, 1,228 candidates in the second session, and 1,572 candidates for the police position.

Our Maden, Sarıyer and Yavuz Sultan Selim fire teams were dispatched to the scene upon receiving reports at around 17:49. The fire was extinguished as a result of the efforts of our teams that arrived at the scene in a short time.

A fire broke out in a 3-storey workplace on Hisar Street in the Kartaltepe Neighborhood of Küçükçekmece. Upon the reports received at around 23:40, our Sefaköy, Bahçelievler, Bakırköy, Avcılar, Başakşehir, Beşiktaş, Mahmutbey, Büyükçekmece, Şişli, Bayrampaşa, Kartal, Çatalca, Kıraç, Sultangazi, Beylikdüzü, Hadımköy, Fatih, Arnavutköy, Büyükbakkalköy, Ümraniye, Beyoğlu, Kadıköy, Ümraniye fire teams and emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the work carried out by our teams with 65 vehicles and 164 personnel who arrived at the scene in a short time, the fire was taken under control. Cooling efforts are continuing. In the incident, which caused material damage, 6 citizens who were trapped on the upper floors were evacuated by our teams and handed over to the healthcare teams.

Our teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, took the fire under control and extinguished it as a result of intensive work with 80 vehicles and 215 personnel. There were no injuries or casualties in the fire, which caused material damage.

We buried our martyr Furkan SAYIN with prayers

We laid to rest our friend Furkan SAYIN, who had been seriously injured during the fire response in Esenler and had been taken into treatment and later attained the rank of martyrdom, following the funeral prayer held in his hometown, Kastamonu Taşköprü Yukarışehirören Village.

The ceremony witnessed a large crowd with the participation of Kastamonu Deputy Governor Ahmet ATİLKAN, Taşköprü District Governor Abdullah DEMİRBAĞ, Taşköprü District Gendarmerie Commander Yasin BULUT, Taşköprü District Police Chief Faruk VELİOĞLU, Taşköprü Mayor Hüseyin ARSLAN, AFAD Provincial Director Suat TÜFEKÇİ, Kastamonu Municipality Fire Chief Eyüp KARAKAŞ, Taşköprü Fire Chief Uğur KARADUMAN and his colleagues from our organization, his friends, relatives and family.

We bid farewell to our friend Furkan SAYIN, who had been seriously injured during the fire response in Esenler and had been taken into treatment and had later become a martyr.

Our martyr Furkan SAYIN was sent to his hometown, Kastamonu Province, Taşköprü District Yukarı Şehirören Village, after the condolences received at the Bağcılar Fire Station where he had been on duty.
