A fire broke out on the roof of an 8-storey building on Karslı Ahmet Street in İçerenköy Neighbourhood, Ataşehir. Our Ataşehir and Erenköy fire teams were dispatched to the scene upon receiving reports at 15:18. The fire was extinguished as a result of the efforts of our teams that arrived at the scene in a short time.

There were no injuries or loss of life in the incident where material damage occurred.

Firefighters from different cities, manufacturers, practitioners, business owners, academics and experts working on fire safety attended the workshop where Istanbul Fire Department Deputy Director Ahmet Yavuz, European Side Fire Prevention Chief İsa Ebik, Fire Department Training Center Instructors Servet Sarı and Yusuf Uğurlu participated as speakers.

Information was shared about fire risks in solar panels installed on building roofs, lithium-ion battery and battery systems, electric vehicles in indoor parking lots and precautions to be taken against such risks.

Our teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, quickly started their work. As a result of rescue operations that lasted 3 days, the lifeless body of a citizen trapped under the rubble was found. A judicial investigation has been launched by the relevant authorities regarding the matter.

Upon the report received at around 04:02, fire teams from Yakuplu, Beylikdüzü, Avcılar, Büyükçekmece, Bakırköy, Şişli, Başakşehir, İstinye, Bayrampaşa, Bağcılar, Mahmutbey, Davutpaşa, Kıraç, Ümraniye, Kadıköy, Beşiktaş, Çatalca, Kartal, Ataşehir, Sultanbeyli, Hadımköy, Büyükbakkalköy, Silivri, Çavuşbaşı, Sultangazi, Bahçelievler, Fatih, Çekmeköy, Kavacık, Arnavutköy, Kemerburgaz, Sancaktepe, Şile, Tuzla Coastal stations and 112 emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene. The fire was taken under control as a result of the work carried out by our teams with 416 personnel and 150 vehicles that arrived at the scene in a short time. Cooling efforts are ongoing in the incident, and there has been no information on injuries or casualties received so far.

In-service training activities for personnel continue at full speed. Istanbul Fire Department, which has increased the number of fire stations and the number of personnel accordingly in a planned manner in order to meet the increasing need and to reach world standards, aims to keep the knowledge and skills of the personnel at the highest level with in-service trainings.
