Due to the 100th anniversary of the 29 October Republic Day, an official parade was held on Vatan Street in Fatih. Many citizens ran to Vatan Street with Turkish flags in their hands. Within the scope of the celebrations; Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, 1st Army and Istanbul Garrison Commander General Ali Sivri and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu greeted the citizens on an open-top military vehicle. At the ceremony, a moment of silence was observed for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades and all our martyrs. The Turkish Flag was raised while the National Anthem was sung. After President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's message was read, Istanbul Governor Gül made his speech. The parade started with the military band taking its place in the ceremony area. "Turkish Stars", the first team in the world to demonstrate with 8 supersonic warplanes, added color to the enthusiasm of the 100th anniversary of the Republic with their show on the Bosphorus.
