Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu inspected the Çekmeköy Fire Station, whose construction work started on May 9, 2023 and started to serve on March 27, 2024. Accompanied by newly elected Çekmeköy Mayor Orhan Çerkez and Sancaktepe Mayor Alper Yeğin, İmamoğlu received detailed information about the station from IMM Deputy Secretary General Gürkan Alpay and Fire Department Head Remzi Albayrak. İmamoğlu met with approximately 400 firefighters at the station at the iftar table. Making a speech before the iftar, İmamoğlu congratulated his colleagues on the Lailat ul-Qadr (the Night of Power), the Month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (Ramadan Feast).
