The 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Turkey was celebrated at the Republic Monument in Taksim. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, 1st Army and Istanbul Garrison Commander General Bahtiyar Ersay, and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan gathered at the Republic Monument in Taksim. Gül, Ersay, and Aslan, accompanied by a ceremonial squad, laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument during the ceremony, which was also attended by representatives of political parties and civil society organizations. The official ceremony concluded with a moment of silence for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all the martyrs, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and a message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Aslan and IMM bureaucrats greeted the Municipal Police, Fire, Public Relations and İSTAÇ teams present at the ceremony and congratulated them on Republic Day.
