A graduation ceremony was held at the Cebeci Sports Complex for 578 new firefighters, 78 women and 500 men, who completed the "Basic Firefighter Training" organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Fire Department. The ceremony, which began with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem, included a prayer for firefighters and various sports demonstrations. IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan and IMM Deputy Secretary General Remzi Albayrak also gave speeches at the ceremony.
The Basic Firefighter Training, organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, began on October 6, 2025, and concluded on January 23, 2026. Planned in accordance with the curriculum specified in the Municipal Fire Department Regulations, the training program consisted of 560 hours and lasted approximately 3.5 months. A total of 578 probationary firefighters, consisting of 78 women and 500 men, participated in the training program. The trainees received theoretical and practical training on numerous topics they might encounter throughout their careers, including firefighter safety, firefighting equipment, firefighting techniques, search and rescue in fires, rescue equipment, rescue skills, fire trucks, traffic accident response, hazardous materials, and forest fires.
