The Istanbul Fire Department, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure the peace and safety of Istanbul and its residents, continues its training activities without interruption.
Drawing on 312 years of accumulated expertise, the Istanbul Fire Department also provides training to firefighters from other provinces and districts in response to requests from across the country. In this context, a "Basic Firefighting Training" program for fire personnel serving in the Cide district of Kastamonu is currently in full swing. During this five-day program, theoretical and practical training has been completed on fundamental firefighting topics such as the science of combustion and fire, fire extinguishing agents and equipment, fire intervention techniques, causes and determination of fire origins, LPG and natural gas safety, and the use of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA); meanwhile, training sessions on responding to traffic accidents, interventions involving hybrid and electric vehicles, and urban search and rescue operations are ongoing.
