An event of European Police and Fire Games is held every year and is one of the most prominent sports competition among the European safety and security services. This year more than 5,000 contestants from 30 countries have taken part in this competition.
The Sporting team of the Istanbul Fire Department has won a total of 82 medals, of which 29 gold, 27 silver and 26 bronze medals in the 6th European Police and Fire Games in Spain, in which the Fire Department had participated with 27 competitors.
The team returned home. A welcoming ceremony was held at the Atatürk Airport with the participation of the firefighters from the Fire Department. A convoy of supporters escorted the winners towards Kocasinan Fire station. The ceremony ended there.
