The excitement for the 40th transcontinental Istanbul Marathon organized by the main organizer Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality began at Sports Fair at the Eurasia Show and Art Center in Yenikapı, which will be held between Nov. 8-10, 2018. 

The festival brings Turkey's beloved brands, NGOs and public enterprises to the public, workshops, sports activities and domestic and foreign marathon clubs.

Transcontinental Istanbul Marathon Fun Run will start at 9:45 a.m. (local time) on Nov. 11 from the Altunizade Bridge, and after crossing the Asian side to the European side, will end at Dolmabahçe.

On the marathon's motto this year, Abdulhalim Aksu, the head of Spor Istanbul, said, "As Spor Istanbul, our main goal is to contribute to raising healthy generations. We dedicate this marathon to a healthy future. That's why we are saying 'Run Istanbul for a healthy future."

The Istanbul Marathon is among 17 marathons in Europe and 38 marathons in the world, he noted. Vodafone is the main sponsor of the race organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Spor Istanbul.
