The Istanbul Fire Department, which has the most modern fire extinguishing tools in the world, celebrates its 304th anniversary with a week-long event. One of these activities was the extinguishing of the fire with the 1714 model Fire Extinguisher called Didon which was held in Sultanahmet Square and received great applause by the audience.
The program which was watched by IMM Fire Department Head Mr. Ali Karahan also received great applause by foreign tourists.
Organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, the program started with a demonstration by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Orchestra Directorate Mehteran Team. The fire that took place in a representative mansion in Sultanahmet Square was intervened by the "Didon" 304 years ago.
After the fire extinguished the firefighter prayer was read. Filled with the citizens of the square and tourists photographed the "tulumbacılar" as a souvenir photo.
