The first official ceremony for the 101st anniversary celebrations of the 30th of August Victory Day was held at the Republic Monument in Taksim. The ceremony started with Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, 1st Army and Istanbul Garrison Commander General Ali Sivri, and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu laying a wreath at the Atatürk Monument, respectively, and ended with a moment of silence for the martyrs and the singing of the National Anthem.
CEREMONY PROCESS ON VATAN STREET
Gül, Sivri and İmamoğlu transferred to the Governorship of Istanbul after the ceremony in Taksim was over. They participated in the celebration held for the August 30 Victory Day. The last of the official ceremonies was held on Vatan Street. Gül, Sivri and İmamoğlu, who got into the ceremony car, greeted the public with the band. Citizens, who participated in the event intensely, added color to the parade accompanied by Turkish flags and applause. After the greeting, Gül, Sivri and İmamoğlu took their places in the protocol. At the ceremony, which continued with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's August 30 message was read. The ceremony ended with the parade of the military units.
