Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, together with CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik and Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney, attended the official ceremony held at Taksim Republic Monument within the scope of the 104th April 23 celebrations. Children from foreign countries, including students from Palestine and Ukraine, who were hosted in Istanbul within the scope of the "International April 23 Children's Festival" organized by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, also attended the ceremony and shared the April 23 enthusiasm. The official part of the ceremony ended with the laying of a wreath on the monument by the Provincial Director of National Education Associate Professor Murat Mücahit Yentür, a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. After the end of the official ceremony, İmamoğlu left the IMM wreath, accompanied by a municipal police squad, at the Republic Monument. Following İmamoğlu, wreaths from political parties and non-governmental organizations also took their place around the monument. İmamoğlu, who took commemorative photographs with children from foreign countries and different parts of Turkey in the area, also participated in the April 23 celebration program organized by the Istanbul Governorship at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall.
