A Meaningful Visit to the IMM Deputy Mayor During Firefighters' Week23 September 2026 Wednesday

As part of the events marking the 312th anniversary of our Fire Department, we visited IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan in his office with a delegation comprising our IMM Secretary General Volkan Demir, Deputy Secretary General Erdal Celal Aksoy, Head of the Fire Department Remzi Albayrak, and our regional directors.

During the visit, the Head of the Fire Department briefed the IMM President on the department's ongoing operations, modernization projects, and the awareness-raising activities planned for Firefighting Week. Noting that they undertake the duty of protecting life and property in a metropolis like Istanbul with great dedication, the Department Head thanked the IMM President for his support and presented him with flowers to mark the occasion.

"We Are Proud of Our Heroes"

Expressing his pleasure at the visit, the IMM President emphasized that the Istanbul Fire Department is one of the most established and powerful firefighting organizations not only in Turkey but in the world. The IMM President stated, "I congratulate all our firefighting heroes—who serve 24/7 at the risk of their lives and stand on the front lines during every disaster and emergency—on Firefighting Week. We will continue to stand by our personnel at all times by strengthening our technological infrastructure."
The meeting concluded with a commemorative photograph taken of the IMM President and the firefighting delegation together.
Public events aimed at raising awareness about fire safety across the city will continue throughout the week.
