Response to the forest fire in Keşan District of Edirne City from Flame Eagle, the fire helicopter

The wild fire, breaking out last Saturday, was finally extinguished. Flame Eagle, the fire helicopter from Istanbul Fire Department, supported the extinguishing crew for two days. 

A fire broke out in a forested land in the vicinity of Sazlıdere Village in Keşan District of Edirne City. The Fire Department was called for support and the Flame Eagle, the response helicopter hired by the Department, attended the incident. 42 water-tenders, 4 helicopters, 13 water-tankers and 5 bulldozers from various public bodies were dispatched to the scene. Also 8 first-responders and 2 ambulances came to help. A 150-person crew worked hard to extinguish the wild fire. Arriving at the scene, the Flame Eagle made 47 sorties and used 210.375 litres of water and 140 litres of foam while responding to the blaze. The forest fire was brought under control due to the two-day efforts.
