A fire broke out at junk in the basement of a seven-storey building on Koçtaş Street in Merdiven Neighbourhood, Kadıköy. The Fire Department was called at 14:12 and fire crews from Erenköy and Kadıköy stations attended the incident. The firefighters, arriving at the scene soon, worked hard and extinguished the blaze. Six people trapped on upper floors were evacuated safely by the crews. While the fire resulted in damage to the basement, no one was injured or dead.
