A fire broke out in four silos of a vegetable & biodiesel manufacturing factory located on an area of 10.000 m2 on Eski Turgut Özal Road in Ziya Gökalp Neighbourhood, Başakşehir. The Fire Department was called at 16:02 and fire crews from İkitelli, Başakşehir, Bağcılar, Kocasinan, Gaziosmanpaşa, Seyrantepe, Şişli and Bakırköy stations attended the incident along with emergency medical teams, 2 water trucks from Hamidiye Water Company of the Metropolitan Municipality and 1 water truck from Bağcılar District Municipality. 59 firefighters in 22 fire engines, arriving at the scene soon, worked hard and extinguished the blaze. While the fire resulted in damage to the factory, no one was injured or dead.
